Gods own gossipmongers

Everybody to a certain extent gossips, be it men or women. Women particulary are known to be notorious gossipers. Well I don’t agree completely with it as I have seen many men who are far ahead of women in this trade. Indulging in gossip can be a harmless pleasure as long as one does not overdo it. Nature is at its best in Kerala, no wonder it is known as the God’s own country. The lush greenery the calm countryside it’s probably the best that one can see who has lived all life amidst the hustle bustle of the city. Ask any middle aged person who has lived all life out of Kerala, probably their only dream would be to return to their native after retirement. And their idea to return is not unjustified. The peace inducing countryside, the weather , the slow paced lifestyle might just seem to be the perfect formula for retired life. The plenty of relatives and well wishers are a boon at an age when its is most important to know more people. But how many of them are truly a well wisher is the big question. Gossiping is also a part of the countryside lifestyle. For many it must be completely new as mostly there is not enough time for this during the working years of one’s life. It might be natural to think that gossiping is everywhere, but the amount and the kind of gossip in villages is certainly different. Maybe as the number of people who live in the villages are less, people tend to know each other much more personally, which is actually a good thing but at the same time for the people who have lived most of their life with very few interference to their personal lives this can seem too much of a loss of privacy. Its kind of unfair to laugh at others miseries. Even if the person undergoing that is someone whom we consider our biggest enemy. Blaming them and saying that it is because of the sins he did that god is punishing him, is crazy. This kind of narrow mindedness is totally unacceptable.

Well it is impossible to change people’s attitude, but what we can atleast do is ignore our dear gossipmongers and move ahead. Keep ourselves busy with constructive work. And to all gossipmongers, it is not god who is going to punish you all but your own fellow gossipmongers and the punishment is ofcourse themselves being the topic of gossip. Therefore watch your words….
