Ash-Abhisheik's wedding - disappointment for fans & media
The wedding of Ash and Abhishek was a much talked about event of this year. With the media going to any extent to capture images of the couple and the celebrities attending the event. But the bachchan family rather decided to keep the whole event extremely private and almost completely barred the media from getting any sort of coverage. Its true that celebrities are also human beings and they too require some private space especially during an event like this. But the way the Bachchan family had completely eluded from the media is a disappointment for their fans.
Even the guest’s list attending the wedding was like pieces of a puzzle. Sadly the most high profile wedding of the year did not consist all the members of the film fraternity itself. The very same industry, which gave this family the position and the status, they enjoy today. Many of the Biggies in the industry were left out.
One can jus
tify saying that the choice of guests attending the wedding is their personal choice. But depriving fans of their right to watch their favorite celeb’s getting married is truly not fair. The media too was snubbed, but the desperate media persons went to the end of their wits to capture any image they could. And all that they could manage to get was grainy images Aishwarya and Abhishek going in a car and Abhishek atop a horse! Its really sad that the Bachchan’s chose to disappoint their fans.
I just remembered the stark contrast with the Surya-Jyothika’s wedding that took place last year. Which was also a much talked about wedding in South India. They too decided not to entertain media persons during the wedding ceremony. But right during the time the wedding was announced, Surya’s dad, actor Siva Kumar had informed that the media will not be allowed, but photos and videos of the ceremony will be made available for the press within one hour of the ceremony and the media persons will have a briefing the following day. What a gracious way to conduct a ceremony like this, not disappointing anyone. All of the Tamil film industry seemed to be present there to grace the occasion and the media was not at all disappointed as they kept the word, the photos and videos were available all over in just few hours of the ceremony. There was no hullabaloo, no mistreatment of the press, whole Tamil film industry attended the ceremony and the fans got to get the glimpse of their favorite stars on their wedding day.

Seems like the Bachchan’s truly need a lesson to be learnt in respecting the media and fans. They are stars because of this very same media and the crores of fans who throng to see their movies. When their movies are going to be released they love the media to give them full coverage but it’s not the same story when it comes to their personal lives. Once they are celebrities it’s always difficult to lead a normal personal lives as others. People see them in the movies; they idolize them and like to know about them and the kind of life they lead. It is in return for all the fame and money these celeb’s get.
But the media never backs up. They still waited in capture all that their cameras could, speculated and aired the same material again and again in all news channels. But the fans aren’t impressed!

south indian specially tamils are known for thier hospitality .
celebrity status comes with priveleges and a few penances ,privacy is a loss when popularity is the gain ,
in fact the Bachans could have had a public wedding calling all press and widely televised for thier millions of fans and also a personal one for thier inner circle ,
they had no excuse in not calling thier own colleagues in the industry ,it reeks of arrogance ,
one remembers the day when Bachan almost breathed his last in Breach candy when the prayers of the whole country brought hom back from the jaws of death
how ungrateful can one be ?
I agree With Hari,
The day Amitab was injured in The Coolie Episode I Was In Banglore.
The Problem of blunt Injury abdomen Started 2 Days after The Injury.
All Features Of severe Sepsis & Severe Abdominal distension Led To an emergency Surgery.
The Surgeon Was Dr. H. S Bhat ,The Director Of Urology at C. M. C Vellore.
The Anaesthetist was Dr. Mariamma Alexander
When the abdomen was opened it was Full of Pus & The Perforated contents of the Large bowel had Caused severe septic Peritonitis.
Amitab Was On a Ventilator & the Next morning Dr. Mariamma Was The anaestetist who Took him to Breach candy by air ambulance.
I Had a Personal chat On The night of surgery, at a Party to which Dr. Bhat Came. In Person He Told me that Amitab was lucky & had he waited The story Would have Been different.
The lessons Bachan the bap had learned in the past might be the reason why he arranged a low key wedding ceremony for his celebrity son and bahu! How poor we Indian’s memory lane has been! We all forgot the way the media handled Abhishek-Karishma engagement break-up……the Aish-Salman telephone conversation, the tabloid news got printed in the front pages of our national dailies then! The media is always on look out for meaty and juicy pieces of news; if not Aish-Abhi, they have Arun Nayar-Liz Hurley, split-up pair prince William-Kate Middleton or the mischievous Paris Hilton…… the hospitality of tamils couldn’t be described without mentioning the Jayalalitha sponsored wedding extravaganza of her foster son sudhakaran held in the state on September 7,1995! The first big star in the bachan family was late Harivamsarai Bachan, the notable hindi poet who made the family name popular even before Amitab was born…..alas there were no frenetic paparazzi people during his time to claim his fame!
